I think an alternative to the Bipod could be a cuff compensator and there were FBI versions of the BAR that featured both pistol grips and compensators The in game version of the automatic rifle already has a pistol grip If we wanted the pistol grip as an attachment the stock automatic rifle model has to be redesign so that it doesn't have the pistol grip as standard.
Still though, it's worth taking into consideration if you want to keep this gun near as RL as possible or as game-like as possible.Įdited by dangman4ever, 18 April 2013 - 01:11 AM. Yes it is odd that I'm critizing the potential weight issues considering that this is a game that lets you carry a minigun. The 7.62mm rounds is a relatively heavy round.
Plus there are plenty of 7.62x51mm NATO rifles these days that only come with a 20 round mag rather than a 30 round mag. Note that the example you used was fitted as an AA weapon, not as a mobile infantry weapon. But if you still want to improve the accuracy of the automatic rifle a bit, how about a pistol grip instead as seen on the Colt Monitor:Īs for the extended magazine, a 40 round 7.62mm magazine would be too heavy in real life for use by regular infantry. Finally, the in-game gun already has a bipod if you look carefully: The bipod is just folded up. Not to mention that a bipod doesn't exactly improve accuracy when standing up. However, the bipod doesn't make much sense to me considering that the game doesn't allow for weapons to be mounted or deployed on anything. I like the quick-change barrel idea as it does fit in with the lore a bit.
